The 2020 Annual Event theme was Getting the Work Done: “How-Tos” for Community and Nonprofit Efforts. Attendees joined us on October 13th, 14th, and 15th for world-class speakers, expert panels, hands-on workshops, and more.

We were honored to begin this year's Annual Event with a presentation by Mark Webster Denning, recognizing the current contributions and legacy of our Native American and Indigenous neighbors.

The Morgridge Center for Public Service led this breakout session, made up of community partners with long-standing collaborations with the UW system.

Where Mission Meets Advocacy: Telling your Story in COVID-19

This session, hosted by WisNRG (Wisconsin Nonprofit Resources Group), features key insights on nonprofit storytelling and advocacy, with a special focus on "Telling Your Story in COVID-19."

Fundraising Tactics

Organizers from the UW-Madison Fundraising for Nonprofits Conference presented some key tactics and strategies for effective fundraising, with a focus on overcoming the unique challenges organizations face during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Engaging Youth in Our Work

This breakout session focused on youth engagement in nonprofit and community work. Session leaders from the university and community talk about how youth can be (and are) effective agents for change.

Stakeholder Engagement and Policy Change through a Food Systems and City Lens

This breakout session covered the complex nature, successes, and pitfalls of stakeholder engagement and efforts for policy change, drawing on the insights of experts who work on food systems and organizing in cities.

Walking the Talk for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Undraye Howard will shared insights on how to actively work toward diversity, equity, and inclusion in nonprofit organizations — walking the walk rather than just talking the talk.
